DS-540 – Fanless KDS Box PC with Triple Display by Advantech

The Advantech DS-540 is a next-generation Kitchen Display System Box PC designed for demanding digital signage and quick-service restaurant applications. Built around the energy-efficient Intel Processor N150 (Twin Lake) with a 6W TDP, this fanless system delivers reliable performance in environments where silent operation is essential. The DS-540 supports up to 16GB DDR5 4800MHz memory and features Intel UHD Graphics capable of driving three independent displays simultaneously through HDMI 2.1, USB Type-C with DP Alt Mode, and VGA outputs, all supporting resolutions up to 4K at 60Hz on digital interfaces. Network connectivity is provided by a 2.5GbE Ethernet port using the RTL8125K-CG controller, while versatile I/O includes four USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, two powered RS-232 COM ports configurable via jumpers, and a 3.5mm audio jack with jack detection. Expansion options include M.2 2242 M-Key supporting both SATA and PCIe storage, plus M.2 2230 E-Key for optional Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth connectivity. The USB-C port provides a one-cable solution combining DisplayPort 1.4a video output with USB 3.2 Gen 2 data and 5V/3A power delivery. Security is ensured through firmware TPM 2.0 by default, with discrete TPM 2.0 available as a project option. The compact 180 x 150 x 35mm chassis supports VESA and wall mounting, while the wide 12-24V DC input and 0 to 60°C operating temperature range make it suitable for diverse installation environments including quick-service restaurants, retail displays, and hospitality applications. The DS-540 supports Windows 11 IoT and Ubuntu 24.04 operating systems and carries CE, FCC Class B, UL, and CB certifications.
