The Hirschmann SSR40-8TX-PN is an unmanaged full Gigabit Ethernet DIN rail switch from the SPIDER III product family, designed for automation engineers who need eight-port Gigabit switching with transparent PROFINET integration in a compact, maintenance-free DIN rail form factor. The built-in PROFINET industrial profile enables the switch to operate seamlessly within PROFINET IO systems — including those based on Siemens SIMATIC or other IEC 61158-compliant PLC platforms — without requiring managed switch functionality or complex configuration. All eight 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ45 ports feature auto-crossing, auto-negotiation, and auto-polarity, operating in store-and-forward mode, powered from 12/24 V DC (9.6 to 32 V DC) via a 3-pin terminal block with a maximum draw of just 5.0 W.
