The Hirschmann BXS30-12TX-EECC-LV-2A is the low-voltage variant of the BXS30 managed railway switch series, powered at 24 VDC and designed for onboard installation in trains, trams, and buses where low-voltage auxiliary power is available. It shares the same 12-port M12 architecture as the HV variant — 4 x Gigabit Ethernet X-coded and 8 x Fast Ethernet D-coded M12 ports — in a wall-mounted IP40 metal enclosure operating across -40°C to +70°C with a MTBF of 1,450,382 hours at 25°C, reflecting outstanding long-term reliability for transport applications. Running HiOS 2A Layer 2 advanced software, the BXS30-12TX-EECC-LV-2A supports TSN 802.1Qbv on interfaces 1/1–1/3 for time-critical communication, alongside full VLAN, IGMP Snooping, QoS, and jumbo frame management. Redundancy capabilities include HIPER-Ring, MRP (IEC 62439-2) in both manager and client roles, MSTP, Sub Ring Manager, LACP, and link backup. Industrial protocols covered include PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, IEC 61850, and Modbus TCP. Precise time synchronisation is available via PTPv2 Boundary Clock, PTPv2 Transparent Clock, 802.1AS, and SNTP. The switch holds EN 50155, EN 45545 HL3, EN 50121-4, and NEMA TS2 transport certifications and is certified to IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level 2.
