The EKI-5524SS/MM Series by Advantech represents a breakthrough in convergence switches, combining process control and IT networking management capabilities in a single industrial-grade device. This Fast Ethernet switch features 4 RJ45 copper ports and 2x100FX fiber optic ports, available in both single-mode configurations reaching up to 30km transmission distance and multi-mode variants supporting up to 2km. The series offers flexibility with SC and ST connector options to match existing infrastructure requirements. Central to the EKI-5524SS/MM design is its dual-protocol communication capability, using Modbus/TCP for seamless integration with SCADA software while simultaneously supporting SNMP for IT network management systems. Port-based Quality of Service enables deterministic data transmission by prioritizing critical traffic on designated ports. Redundant 12-48VDC wide-range power inputs with P-Fail relay output ensure high availability. Loop detection capability prevents network disruptions.
