Description
The Hirschmann SPIDER-PL-20-16T is a 16-port unmanaged industrial Fast Ethernet rail switch from the SPIDER III family, purpose-built for industrial automation, process control, and machine networking environments where straightforward plug-and-play Ethernet connectivity is required across a high port count without the overhead of managed switch configuration. The switch provides 16 auto-crossing, auto-negotiating, and auto-polarity 10/100BASE-TX RJ45 ports, each supporting twisted-pair cable runs up to 100m, in both line and star topology configurations to suit a variety of panel and field cabinet layouts. Operating from a redundant 12/24/48V DC supply with a wide 9.6V to 60V DC acceptance range, as well as 24V AC, the SPIDER-PL-20-16T accommodates the diverse power supply standards found across industrial automation installations in manufacturing, energy, and process industries. Maximum power consumption is 5.1W, making it efficient for cabinet installations with limited heat dissipation capacity. The switch operates across -40°C to +70°C, covering a wider temperature range than many comparable products in its class, and carries IEC 60068-2-6 vibration and IEC 60068-2-27 shock compliance along with the full range of industrial EMC immunity standards including EN 61000-4-2 through 61000-4-6. Software features include Ingress Storm Protection, Jumbo Frames, and IEEE 802.1D/p QoS port prioritisation to manage traffic in mixed-priority networks. LED diagnostics for power, link status, data activity, and data rate provide instant local visibility. Approvals include CE, FCC Class A, EN61131, and cUL 61010-1/61010-2-201. The unit is housed in a compact IP40 metal enclosure measuring 61 x 163.6 x 114.7mm for DIN rail mounting. A 60-month guarantee applies.
