The Concurrent Technologies Hermod II RC-Series is a rugged COTS Ethernet switching system engineered for defence, aerospace, and critical infrastructure applications demanding deterministic real-time communications, high-availability redundancy, and Time-Sensitive Networking in environments where conventional commercial switches cannot operate. Providing up to 20 ports total with up to six 10G fibre optic ports and up to sixteen 1G copper ports at 68 Gbps aggregate switching capacity, the Hermod II supports IEEE 802.1 Qbv Time Aware Shaper, IEEE 802.1 Qav Credit Based Shaper, and IEEE 802.1 Qci per-stream ingress policing for full TSN deterministic traffic scheduling, alongside IEEE 802.1 CB TSN seamless redundancy for dramatically improved availability versus traditional redundancy mechanisms. IEC 62439-3 PRP and HSR provide additional high-availability seamless redundancy options, and IEEE 1588v2 PTP with E2E and P2P modes including Grand Master capability and PTP over HSR and PRP delivers precision time distribution across the network. Layer 3 capabilities encompass IPv4/IPv6 unicast and multicast routing, static routing, OSPFv2/v3, RIPv2, BGPv4/v6, EIGRP, PIM-DM/SM, VRRP, IGMP snooping, L3 VPN, NAT, firewall, and L3 tunnelling including GRETAP and L2TPv2/v3. Wire-speed in-line hardware cryptographic processing ciphers and deciphers traffic without throughput penalty. The IP67 aluminium chassis with circular MIL-DTL-38999 zinc-nickel black connectors and 50ms hold-up capability on 28VDC at 45W is qualified to MIL-STD-810H shock and vibration, MIL-STD-461 and CA/CE EMC, and operates from -40°C to +71°C. SNMPv1/v2/v3, HTTPS web GUI, Built-In-Test, and MIL-STD-1275F compliant power input complete the system.
