Description
The Hirschmann GRS2040-16TX/18SFP-2HV-2A is the full Gigabit equivalent of the mixed-media GREYHOUND 2000 architecture, populating all four Fast Ethernet or Gigabit port groups with alternating SFP and TX groups to deliver maximum flexibility for engineers designing large-scale industrial Ethernet backbones that span both copper and fibre cabling infrastructure at full Gigabit speeds. Port Groups 1 and 3 each provide 8 SFP Gigabit fibre ports while Port Groups 2 and 4 each offer 8 TX Gigabit copper ports, giving a total of 16 TX and 16 SFP access ports, complemented by 2 Gigabit SFP uplinks in Port Group 5 for a maximum of 34 ports. The GRS2040-16TX/18SFP-2HV-2A is ideal for process automation plants, power substations, and outdoor industrial sites where a combination of long-distance fibre runs and short-range copper connections must all operate at Gigabit speeds from a single managed switch chassis. The fanless 19-inch rack design operates from -40°C to +70°C with dual redundant power inputs. Hirschmann’s HiOS Level 2A software delivers the full GREYHOUND 2000 feature set including QinQ VLAN, DiffServ QoS, IGMP snooping, jumbo frames, HIPER-Ring, MRP per IEC 62439-2, RSTP, MSTP, and LACP, with IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level 2 through 802.1X, RADIUS, TACACS+, secure boot, and signed firmware.
