The Hirschmann GRS2040-34SFP-2HV-2A is the flagship all-SFP Full Gigabit configuration of the GREYHOUND 2000 series, designed for network engineers building large-scale all-fibre Gigabit industrial backbones and access layers where every connection must operate at full Gigabit speed with complete electrical isolation. All four access port groups are fully populated with 8 SFP Gigabit ports each, delivering 32 fibre-capable Gigabit connections, while Port Group 5 adds 2 Gigabit SFP uplinks for a total of 34 fully optical Gigabit ports. Compared to the GRS2030-G0000-G0000 Fast Ethernet counterpart, the GRS2040-34SFP-2HV-2A delivers ten times the per-port throughput, making it suitable for high-bandwidth industrial applications in high-voltage substations, large process plants, rail infrastructure, mining, and outdoor multi-building campuses where fibre is mandated for EMC and distance reasons. The fanless 19-inch rack chassis operates from -40°C to +70°C with dual power inputs of 60 to 250 VDC or 100 to 240 VAC. HiOS Level 2A software delivers QinQ VLAN, DiffServ QoS, IGMP snooping, PTPv2 precision timing, HIPER-Ring, MRP per IEC 62439-2, RSTP, MSTP, and LACP. Security meets IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level 2 through 802.1X, RADIUS, TACACS+, DHCP snooping, dynamic ARP inspection, secure boot, and signed firmware.
