Description
The Hirschmann GRS2040-26SFP-2HV-2A is a GREYHOUND 2000 series industrial managed Full Gigabit Ethernet switch purpose-built for network engineers designing all-SFP fibre Gigabit infrastructures where electrical isolation, EMC immunity, and long cable run capability are essential alongside full Gigabit throughput on every port. Port Groups 1, 2, and 3 each provide 8 SFP Gigabit fibre ports for 24 fibre access connections, while Port Group 5 adds 2 Gigabit SFP uplinks for backbone integration, giving a total of 26 fully fibre-capable Gigabit ports. The absence of any copper access ports makes this switch ideal for high-voltage substations, outdoor process plants, rail infrastructure, and other environments where copper cabling introduces unacceptable EMC risk or distance limitations. The fanless 19-inch rack chassis operates from -40°C to +70°C with dual power inputs accepting 60 to 250 VDC or 100 to 240 VAC. Hirschmann’s HiOS Level 2A software delivers QinQ VLAN tagging, DiffServ QoS, IGMP snooping, jumbo frames, PTPv2 boundary and transparent clock synchronisation, HIPER-Ring, MRP per IEC 62439-2, RSTP, MSTP, and LACP link aggregation. IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level 2 is addressed through 802.1X, RADIUS, TACACS+, DHCP snooping, dynamic ARP inspection, secure boot, and signed firmware. IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 substation certifications alongside NEMA TS2 transportation approval provide the broadest regulatory coverage for fibre-heavy industrial sectors.
