Description
The VadaTech XMC247 is a single-width XMC mezzanine module providing quad 10 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity for embedded processing boards via a PCIe x8 Gen3 host interface, built around the Intel X710-TM4 MAC/PHY for proven, high-performance 10GbE operation. The module is designed for engineers seeking flexible high-speed network I/O expansion in OpenVPX, VME, or other XMC-hosting platforms used in defence, radar processing, electronic warfare, and rugged communications applications. BASE-T connectivity supports auto-negotiation across 100BASE-TX, 1G, 2.5G, 5G, and 10GBASE-T speeds. Four distinct I/O routing configurations are available: quad BASE-T via front I/O, dual BASE-T with dual optical LC-interface ports at the front panel, dual BASE-T at the front with dual 10GBASE-KR via the XMC P16 rear connector, and dual or quad BASE-T via the XMC rear I/O connector. This flexibility enables the XMC247 to serve both front-access lab and field environments and backplane-integrated deployments. Power consumption is 14W for the dual BASE-T plus dual optics configuration and 17W for quad BASE-T. Module management is provided via FRU ID and an onboard temperature sensor. Environmental options span air-cooled AC1 at 0°C to +55°C, extended AC3 at -40°C to +70°C, and conduction-cooled variants to CC4 at -40°C to +85°C per ANSI/VITA 47, with vibration tolerance from V2 to V3. Both VITA 42 and VITA 61 XMC connector options are available, along with optional conformal coating. Software support covers Linux, Windows, and VxWorks.
