Description
The Hirschmann GECKO 8TX/2SFP is a fanless lite managed industrial DIN rail Ethernet switch that extends the GECKO 8TX platform with two additional 100/1000Mbps SFP uplink slots, enabling flexible Gigabit backbone connectivity via single-mode fibre, multimode fibre, long-haul transceivers, or copper SFP modules. The combination of 8x 10/100BASE-TX RJ45 access ports and 2x Gigabit SFP uplinks in a 45.4 x 110 x 82mm DIN rail housing makes the GECKO 8TX/2SFP an efficient aggregation switch for machine cells or zone switches that need both local device connectivity and high-speed uplink to the plant backbone network. Operating from -40 to +60°C at just 5.3W from an 18 to 32VDC supply, with an MTBF of 7,146,019 hours to Telcordia SR-332 Issue 3 at 25°C, it is built for long-life reliable deployment in demanding industrial environments. Redundancy is supported by RSTP (IEEE 802.1D-2004) and MRP Client for ring network integration. Switching capabilities include TOS/DSCP prioritisation, 4-queue QoS, VLAN support, Flow Control (802.3X), and static filter entries. Management uses an HTML5 web interface, TFTP, SNMP v1/v2/v3 with SNMPv3 authNoPriv, SSH, and SSL. Diagnostics provide Syslog, RMON (1) statistics, LLDP topology discovery, and log file. PROFINET protocol support and SNTP client time synchronisation complete the industrial profile. The IP30 enclosure is rated for operation up to 3,000 metres altitude and carries CE, FCC, and cUL 61010-1 approval with a 60-month guarantee.
