GECKO 5TX – 5-Port Lite Managed DIN Rail Switch by Hirschmann

The Hirschmann GECKO 5TX is a lite managed industrial Ethernet DIN rail switch designed for cost-effective deployment in small industrial networks where a lightweight management capability is needed without the overhead of a full-featured managed switch. It provides 5x 10/100BASE-TX RJ45 ports with auto-crossing, auto-negotiation, and auto-polarity in a store-and-forward switching architecture, housed in one of the most compact DIN rail switch form factors available at just 25 x 114 x 79mm and 110 grams. Drawing only 1.8W from a wide 9.6 to 32VDC supply, the GECKO 5TX is extremely energy-efficient and well suited to cost-sensitive multi-node deployments. Redundancy is provided by RSTP (IEEE 802.1D-2004) for loop protection and recovery. Switching features include TOS/DSCP prioritisation, 4-queue QoS, VLAN support, and static unicast and multicast filter entries up to 100 addresses. Management is via web interface, HTTPS configuration file and firmware transfer, and SNMP v1/v2/v3 with SNMPv3 authNoPriv security. Diagnostics include device status LEDs, log file, RMON (1) statistics, and LLDP topology discovery per IEEE 802.1AB. Configuration is via HiDiscovery, BOOTP/DHCP, and web-based management, with the option to disable individual ports for port-level security. The IP30 DIN rail housing operates between 0 and +60°C, stores to -40°C, and carries CE, FCC, and cUL 61010-1 safety approval, with a 60-month guarantee and an MTBF of 474,305 hours to MIL-HDBK-217F.
