The Hirschmann BRS50-8TX/4SFP-EEC is a compact managed industrial Ethernet switch from the BOBCAT series engineered for engineers specifying switches with 2.5 Gigabit SFP uplinks in thermally challenging industrial environments. Providing eight ports of 10/100/1000BASE-TX copper connectivity via RJ45 and four SFP slots capable of 100/1000/2500 Mbit/s across two dual-SFP uplink groups, the BRS50-8TX/4SFP-EEC enables bandwidth-hungry fiber backbone connections at 2.5 Gigabit speeds while retaining standard Gigabit copper access for connected devices. The EEC designation confirms an extended temperature rating from -40 to +70°C in a compact 73 mm wide PC-ABS DIN Rail housing, making it particularly well suited to railway trackside cabinets, outdoor industrial enclosures, and harsh process environments.
