Description
The Hirschmann BOBCAT BRS50-8TX/4SFP-EEC-HL is the most thoroughly hardened and certified variant in the compact BOBCAT BRS50 series, combining Extended Environmental Class operation from -40 to +70°C with ISA12.12.01 hazardous location approval and four SFP slots supporting speeds of 100 Mbit/s, 1 Gbit/s, or 2.5 Gbit/s. Part number 942170044, it provides eight 10/100/1000BASE-TX RJ45 ports and four 2.5G-capable SFP uplink slots in a 570 g PC-ABS DIN Rail housing measuring 73 x 138 x 115 mm, with an MTBF of over 3.11 million hours at 25°C. The simultaneous coverage of EEC temperature hardening, hazardous area certification, and 2.5 Gbit/s uplink capability makes this switch uniquely suited to oil and gas upstream sites, offshore platforms, and petrochemical facilities where wide temperature ranges, explosive atmosphere certification, and high-bandwidth network backbone infrastructure are all required in a single compact device. As part of the BOBCAT TSN platform, the BRS50-8TX/4SFP-EEC-HL supports IEEE 802.1Qbv alongside HIPER-Ring and MRP (IEC62439-2) redundancy, RSTP, LACP, IGMP snooping, QoS, and VLAN management. Industrial protocol support spans PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, IEC61850 MMS Server, and Modbus TCP. Security features include 802.1X, RADIUS, secure boot, signed firmware, and DoS prevention.
