Description
The Hirschmann BOBCAT BRS50-20TX/4SFP-EEC is the Extended Environmental Class variant of the high-port-density 24-port BOBCAT switch with 2.5 Gbit/s SFP uplinks, combining 20 x 10/100/1000BASE-TX RJ45 copper ports with four SFP slots accepting 100 Mbit/s, 1 Gbit/s, or 2.5 Gbit/s fiber transceivers in a 1620 g metal DIN Rail housing rated from -40 to +70°C. Part number 942170072, it offers the highest copper port density in the EEC BRS50 range and the ability to scale backbone uplink bandwidth to 2.5 Gbit/s by simply changing the SFP transceiver — no hardware replacement required. This makes it the ideal switch for outdoor substations, railway depot networks, and heavy industrial facilities that need both maximum device connectivity and future-proof uplink bandwidth in a single temperature-hardened unit. The full BOBCAT software platform is retained including IEEE 802.1Qbv TSN, HIPER-Ring and MRP (IEC62439-2) redundancy, RSTP, LACP, IGMP snooping, QoS, and VLAN management. Industrial protocols span PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, IEC61850, and Modbus TCP. Security covers 802.1X, RADIUS, secure boot, signed firmware, and DoS prevention.
