Description
The Hirschmann BRS32-8TX/4SFP is a Power over Ethernet managed industrial switch from the Hirschmann BOBCAT series, designed for engineers who need to combine PoE+ device powering with flexible SFP fibre uplink connectivity in a single compact DIN Rail unit. It provides 8x 10/100BASE-TX RJ45 PoE+ access ports with a 240 W total PoE power budget, and four SFP uplink slots — arranged as two dual-SFP uplinks supporting 100/1000 Mbit/s in interchangeable single mode, long-haul, or multimode SFP fibre modules — giving network architects the ability to define both uplink fibre type and reach independently of the switch hardware. Operating from a 48/54 VDC PoE supply voltage with a maximum total consumption of 250 W, the BRS32-8TX/4SFP runs from 0 to +60°C in a compact fanless DIN Rail PC-ABS housing with an outstanding MTBF of over 3.4 million hours. This Hirschmann switch is suited to industrial facilities deploying PoE-powered IP cameras, wireless access points, and remote I/O devices alongside fibre-based network backbones. TSN 802.1Qbv on interfaces 1/1 to 1/3 enables deterministic real-time communication, while PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, and IEC 61850 provide comprehensive protocol support.
