BRS30-16TX/4SFP-EEC – Extended Temp 20-Port SFP Switch by Hirschmann

The Hirschmann BRS30-16TX/4SFP-EEC is the extended temperature variant of the BOBCAT BRS30-16TX/4SFP managed switch, combining the flexibility of four SFP fibre uplink slots with an Extended Environmental Class operating range of -40 to +70°C and a robust metal housing — rather than the PC-ABS used in the standard variant — making it suitable for the most demanding outdoor, transportation, and heavy industrial deployments where thermal extremes and mechanical robustness are primary requirements. It provides 20 ports in total: 16x 10/100BASE-TX RJ45 and four SFP slots supporting 100/1000 Mbit/s in single mode, long-haul, or multimode fibre configurations, giving architects maximum flexibility in specifying the network reach and fibre type without changing appliance hardware. TSN 802.1Qbv on interfaces 1/1 to 1/3 enables deterministic, time-sensitive communication for real-time industrial control applications. Industrial protocol support covers PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, and IEC 61850. Redundancy is provided by HIPER-Ring, MRP (IEC 62439-2) as manager and client, RSTP, Link Aggregation with LACP, and Redundant Network Coupling. Security features include 802.1X, RADIUS, VLAN-based ACLs, Secure Boot, and signed firmware. With an MTBF of nearly 2.97 million hours and CE, FCC, and cUL61010 approvals, the BRS30-16TX/4SFP-EEC is engineered for long-life deployment in Nordic and Arctic industrial sites, rail infrastructure, and utility networks.
