BOBCAT BRS20-8TX-EEC-HL – Hazardous Wide-Temp 8-Port TSN Switch by Hirschmann, a Belden Brand

The Hirschmann BOBCAT BRS20-8TX-EEC-HL is the wide-temperature hazardous location variant of Hirschmann’s 8-port managed Fast Ethernet BOBCAT switch, combining ISA12.12.01 hazardous location certification with a -40 to +70°C operating range and 8x 10/100BASE-TX RJ45 ports in a 73 mm wide fanless PC-ABS DIN rail housing rated to IP30. Manufactured by Hirschmann, a Belden brand, it is designed for network engineers deploying managed switching within or adjacent to Ex-classified zones in oil and gas processing facilities, offshore platforms, petrochemical plants, and chemical manufacturing environments where both hazardous area approval and wide-temperature resilience are simultaneously required. At 6 W consumption from dual redundant 12 to 24 VDC power inputs, it is practical for Ex-zone panel installations where heat dissipation and energy availability are tightly constrained. Eight copper RJ45 ports provide meaningful field device density from a single compact DIN rail device, while TSN 802.1Qbv on interfaces 1/1 to 1/3 enables deterministic real-time Ethernet communication for time-critical process automation systems.
