The Hirschmann BOBCAT BRS20-4TX/2FX-SM is a 6-port managed industrial Fast Ethernet switch from Hirschmann, a Belden brand, designed for industrial automation and infrastructure networks that require very long-distance fiber connectivity from a compact DIN rail node. Redundancy capabilities span HIPER-Ring, MRP (IEC62439-2) as both client and manager, RSTP, LACP, Link Backup, and Redundant Network Coupling, supporting high-availability ring and star topologies across single-mode fiber and copper segments. Security is addressed through Secure Boot, signed firmware, 802.1X, RADIUS, VLAN-based ACLs, and DoS prevention.
