RSPM20-8SFP

RSPM20-8SFP – Extended Temp 8x SFP Fibre Module by Hirschmann

The Hirschmann RSPM20-8SFP is an extended temperature Fast Ethernet media module providing eight SFP fibre slots for RSPE series switch expansion, operating from -40 to +70°C and approved to IEC 61850-3, IEEE 1613, EN50121-4, ATEX Zone 2, and ISA Class 1 Div. 2 for hazardous and extreme environments. Powered via the host RSPE32 or RSPE37 switch at 12 W, it expands total port count to 28 fully fibre-connected ports for substation, rail, and hazardous area networking. Available from Recab, your Nordic partner for Hirschmann industrial switch solutions.
Description
The Hirschmann RSPM20-8SFP is a hardened Fast Ethernet media expansion module from Hirschmann’s RSPM series, distinguished from the standard RSPM20 variants by its extended operating temperature range of -40 to +70°C, validated against IEC 60068-2-2 dry heat testing at +85°C for 16 hours, and a comprehensive approval set that extends to ATEX II 3G Ex na IIC T4 Gc, ISA-12.12.01 Class 1 Div. 2 Group A-D hazardous location certification, IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 substation approvals, and EN50121-4 transportation certification. The module provides eight SFP fibre slots, supporting single mode, long-haul single mode, and multimode fibre types across any distance requirement, and is powered directly via the host RSPE32 or RSPE37 switch at a consumption of 12 W. Installed into the host switch’s media module bay, it expands the total available port count to a maximum of 28 ports, creating a fully fibre-connected expansion block suited to EMI-sensitive, hazardous, and geographically challenging environments. IEC 60068-2-6 vibration and IEC 60068-2-27 shock compliance, together with storage temperature down to -40 to +85°C, confirm this module’s suitability for outdoor switchgear installations, railway trackside cabinets, offshore platforms, and cold-climate utility infrastructure across the Nordic and Baltic regions. Approved also to CE, FCC, RCM, EN 61131, and UL61010, the RSPM20-8SFP is the media module of choice for engineers building RSPE-based networks in the harshest and most regulated industrial environments. Available from Recab, your Nordic partner for Hirschmann industrial switch solutions.
