RSPE37-8TX/4C-EEC-3S – PoE+ TSN Enhanced Modular Switch by Hirschmann

The Hirschmann RSPE37-8TX/4C-EEC-3S is the most comprehensively specified switch in Hirschmann’s RSPE modular family, combining the extended temperature performance of the EEC series (-40 to +70°C, with IEC 60068-2-2 dry heat validation at +85°C), the full enhanced protocol set of TSN, PRP, HSR, Fast MRP, DLR, NAT, and L3 routing, and PoE+ power delivery across up to 24 ports at a maximum total of 120 Watts. The base unit provides eight 10/100 Fast Ethernet TX ports and four Fast/Gigabit Ethernet combo RJ45/SFP ports, expandable to 28 ports via two media module slots including PoE-capable RSPM modules. The dual 47–57 VDC PoE power supply inputs ensure both network operation and device power delivery from a single industrial DC supply chain. The redundancy suite covers MRP, HIPER-Ring, HIPER-Ring over Link Aggregation, MSTP, VRRP with HiVRRP enhancements, Sub Ring Manager, Redundant Network Coupling, RSTP guards, Fast MRP, HSR, and PRP. Full L3 routing adds OSPFv2, RIPv2, static unicast routing, VLAN-based and port-based router interfaces, Proxy ARP, and IGMP multicast routing. TSN ensures bounded latency for next-generation deterministic automation. Management includes OPC-UA Server, ITxPT Module Inventory, IPv6 Management, and Service Discovery. Security covers LDAP, 802.1X multi-client authentication, Dynamic ARP Inspection, DHCP Snooping, and time-based ACLs. With an MTBF of approximately 1.52 million hours at 25°C, and approvals spanning IEC 61850-3, IEEE 1613, EN50121-4, NEMA TS2, cUL61010, CE, FCC, and RCM, this switch addresses the most complex requirements of railway, substation, oil and gas, and advanced IIoT plant networking.
