Description
The Hirschmann IT MTS8010-Chassis is the maximum-capacity modular chassis of the MAMMUTHUS MTS8000 series, providing 15U of rack space for 8 media module slots alongside 2 engine slots and 2 switch fabric unit slots, making it the platform of choice for the largest data centre core, enterprise campus backbone, and high-throughput industrial IT network deployments where maximum port density and interface flexibility are required in a single modular chassis. By doubling the media slot count compared to the MTS8006-Chassis, the MTS8010-Chassis can accommodate line cards across all 8 slots simultaneously, with the 2 dedicated switch fabric unit slots maintaining full internal switching performance as the chassis is fully populated. Dual redundant hot-swappable engine slots ensure continuous processing without single point of failure risk, and up to 4 modular redundant hot-swappable PSUs provide N+1 or N+N power redundancy scaled to the power demands of a fully loaded chassis. The 2 mandatory modular redundant fan trays are hot-swappable to prevent any planned maintenance downtime. At 441 x 666 x 434.8 mm and 32.48 kg empty chassis weight, the MTS8010-Chassis is the physically largest and most capable platform in the MTS8000 range, accepting 100 to 240 VAC input.
