Description
The Hirschmann IT MTS2748-6X-MP-E is a MAMMUTHUS series Layer 3 Gigabit Ethernet switch that doubles the PoE port density of the MTS2724 platform to 48 ports while retaining the modular PSU architecture, making it the choice for large-scale PoE deployments where maximum device density and power flexibility are required in a single 1U rack unit. All 48 FE/GE access ports support PoE and PoE+ with a maximum power budget of 1520W when configured with dual PSU880 modules, or as low as 380W with a single PSU500, providing budget flexibility to match the installed device load. Four 1/10G SFP+ uplinks and an optional extended line card slot for two additional 1/10G SFP+ interfaces support high-speed backbone aggregation. The enhanced software covers full Layer 3 routing with static routes, RIPv1/v2, OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, RIPng, OSPFv3, BGP4, and ISISv6 for IPv4 and IPv6 dual stack, alongside PIM-DM, PIM-SM, PIM-SDM, and PIM-SSM multicast, VXLAN, EVPN, M-LAG, XML API/NETCONF data centre features, and ERPS G.8032 ring reliability with BFD for OSPF and VRRP. Security is rated to Common Criteria EAL 2+ with 802.1X, RADIUS, TACACS+, SSH, DHCP snooping, dynamic ARP inspection, IP source guard, URPF, and comprehensive attack protection.
