The Hirschmann IT MTS2724-4X-FP-S is a MAMMUTHUS series Layer 3 Gigabit Ethernet PoE switch designed for network architects who need integrated PoE/PoE+ power delivery, Layer 3 routing, and fixed redundant power in a single compact 1U rack unit without the complexity or cost of modular PSU configurations. The switch provides 24 FE/GE PoE/PoE+ access ports for powering IP cameras, wireless access points, VoIP phones, and IoT devices, with a total PoE budget of 380W drawn from a dedicated 460W fixed PSU, while a separate 30W fixed PSU maintains system power independently to ensure the switch remains operational even if the PoE power path is interrupted. Four 1/10G SFP+ uplinks provide flexible 1G or 10G backbone connectivity, and an optional extended line card adds further 1/10G SFP+ capacity. Standard software covers Layer 2 functions including 4K VLAN, QinQ, STP/RSTP/MSTP, link aggregation, and GVRP, alongside Layer 3 routing with static routes, RIPv1/v2, OSPF, and ECMP for IPv4, and IGMP/MLD multicast support. Reliability features include VRRP, Keepalive Gateway, and ERPS G.8032 ring redundancy. Security meets Common Criteria EAL 2+ with 802.1X, RADIUS, TACACS+, SSH, DHCP snooping, dynamic ARP inspection, IP source guard, and full attack protection. Management via console, SSH, SNMP v1/v2/v3, RMON, and sFlow is complemented by data centre features including NETCONF and M-LAG. CE, FCC, CCC, and RoHS approvals complete the compliance profile.
