MSM60-2SFP – Dual-Port 10 Gigabit SFP+ Media Module by Hirschmann

The Hirschmann MSM60-2SFP is a 10 Gigabit Ethernet media module engineered for the Hirschmann PowerMICE MSP modular industrial switch platform, providing two SFP+ ports capable of operating at 1000 or 10000 Mbit/s for high-throughput uplink and backbone connectivity in demanding industrial networks. Each port supports single mode 9/125 µm fiber using M-SFP-10-LR/LC EEC for long-reach, M-SFP-10-ER/LC EEC for extended-reach, and M-SFP-10-ZR/LC for maximum-distance links, while multimode 50/125 µm and 62.5/125 µm fiber is served by M-SFP-10-SR/LC EEC transceivers for short-range 10GbE connections. This transceiver flexibility allows network architects to tailor the MSM60-2SFP to specific link distance requirements across a single module. As with all PowerMICE media modules, the MSM60-2SFP is hot-swappable and can be inserted or removed without interrupting MSP switch operation, with any combination of media modules freely mixed across available slots. Backplane power supply operates at 7W and the module weighs 216g without transceivers. Diagnostic LEDs for power, mode, and link/data status provide immediate visibility of 10GbE port health. The module operates from 0 to 60°C with storage down to -40°C, and meets IEC 60068-2-6 vibration and IEC 60068-2-27 shock standards. EMC compliance spans EN 61000-4 series immunity and EN 55032 Class A emissions, with approvals including EN61131, UL60950, cUL508, NEMA TS2, and C-Tick.
