The Hirschmann MSM40-4TX is a Gigabit Ethernet copper media module for the Hirschmann PowerMICE MSP modular industrial switch platform, delivering four 10/100/1000BASE-TX ports on RJ45 connectors with standard twisted pair cabling up to 100 m per port. Designed for network engineers who need to add cost-effective copper Gigabit connectivity to existing PowerMICE switch infrastructure, the MSM40-4TX slots directly into the switch backplane and requires no separate power supply, drawing just 3W — the lowest power consumption among the PowerMICE Gigabit media module family. The auto-negotiating tri-speed RJ45 ports support 10, 100, and 1000 Mbps operation, providing full backward compatibility with legacy equipment as well as full Gigabit throughput for modern industrial devices. As a hot-swappable module, the MSM40-4TX can be installed or removed from the PowerMICE switch under power without service interruption, and any combination of media modules can occupy available switch slots for a customised port mix. Diagnostic LEDs covering power, mode, and link/data status provide immediate visual health monitoring. The module operates from 0 to 60°C with storage to -40°C and complies with IEC 60068-2-6 vibration and IEC 60068-2-27 shock standards for demanding industrial installations.
