The Hirschmann MSM20-4FX-SM is a single mode fiber Fast Ethernet media module for the Hirschmann PowerMICE MSP modular switch platform, providing four 100BASE-FX ports over SC connectors for long-distance industrial fiber links. Each port supports single mode 9/125 µm fiber with a link reach of up to 32.5 km and a 16 dB link budget at 1300 nm, making the MSM20-4FX-SM the right choice for wide-area plant networks, substation interconnects, and campus backbone links where multimode fiber fall short in distance. As a hot-swappable PowerMICE media module, it can be installed or removed from the MSP switch without interrupting system operation, and any combination of media modules can be populated across the switch’s available slots to achieve the desired port mix and media type.
