Description
The Hirschmann GRS2040-4TX/12SFP-2HV-2A is a managed full Gigabit industrial Ethernet switch from the GREYHOUND 2000 series, engineered as a future-proof, high-availability network device for large-scale industrial, energy, and substation infrastructure. Providing up to 34 ports across five configurable port groups combining 4x TX plus 4x SFP in group one, 8x SFP in group three, and additional GE ports in group five, the GRS2040-4TX/12SFP-2HV-2A delivers the port density and flexibility demanded by complex industrial network architectures. The switch accepts wide-range dual power inputs of 60–250 VDC and 100–240 VAC simultaneously, making it compatible with both AC mains and DC substation power systems without additional converters. Mounting in a standard 19-inch 1U rack with dimensions of 444 x 44 x 344 mm, the fanless design eliminates moving parts for maximum reliability in environments where maintenance access is limited. The operating temperature range of -40 to +70°C, combined with IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 substation approvals and NEMA TS2 transportation certification, qualifies the GRS2040-4TX/12SFP-2HV-2A for power utility substations, traffic management infrastructure, and harsh industrial facilities. Redundancy features include HIPER-Ring over Link Aggregation, MSTP per 802.1Q, MRP per IEC 62439-2, Sub Ring Manager, RSTP, and MRP over Link Aggregation for highly resilient network topologies. The HiOS Level 2A software provides advanced capabilities including OPC-UA Server, ITxPT Module Inventory for transportation applications, SFLOW, RSPAN, VLAN Mirroring, QinQ Double VLAN Tagging, DiffServ classification, IP subnet-based and MAC-based VLANs, and a comprehensive Layer 3-aware security suite meeting IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level 2 with TACACS+, LDAP, Dynamic ARP Inspection, DHCP Snooping, IP Source Guard, and time-based ACLs.
