Description
The Hirschmann GRS2040-12TX/14SFP-2HV-2A is a GREYHOUND 2000 series industrial managed Full Gigabit Ethernet switch that steps up from Fast Ethernet to full Gigabit performance across all access ports, making it the choice for network engineers who need higher throughput on every connected device without sacrificing the rugged reliability the GREYHOUND 2000 platform is known for. The switch supports up to 34 ports in total, with Port Group 1 providing 4 TX and 4 SFP Gigabit ports for mixed copper and fibre access, Port Group 2 adding 8 TX Gigabit copper ports, Port Group 3 contributing 8 SFP Gigabit fibre ports, and Port Group 5 delivering 2 Gigabit SFP uplinks. This combination of 12 TX and 14 SFP access ports gives network architects a highly flexible mixed-media Gigabit topology for connecting both copper and fibre-attached devices in the same chassis. The fanless 19-inch rack design operates from -40°C to +70°C and accepts dual power inputs of 60 to 250 VDC or 100 to 240 VAC for redundant power resilience. Hirschmann’s HiOS Level 2A software provides the GRS2040-12TX/14SFP-2HV-2A with comprehensive layer 2 switching including QinQ VLAN tagging, DiffServ QoS, IGMP snooping, jumbo frames, HIPER-Ring, MRP per IEC 62439-2, RSTP, MSTP, and link aggregation with LACP. Cybersecurity meets IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level 2 through 802.1X, RADIUS, TACACS+, DHCP snooping, dynamic ARP inspection, secure boot, and signed firmware.
