The Hirschmann EES25-0600UHIHPH2E is a managed embedded Fast Ethernet switch from the EES series, purpose-built for OEM integration into industrial and energy equipment where Parallel Redundancy Protocol (PRP) per IEC 62439-3 is a specific design requirement. Like its sibling the EES25-0600UHIHMH2E, it shares the same compact 88 x 13 x 60mm, 35-gram PCB module form factor and dual 50-pin host connector interface, and offers the same advanced redundancy portfolio: PRP (IEC 62439-3), High Availability Seamless Redundancy Protocol (HSR, IEC 62439-3), Fast MRP (IEC 62439-2), MRP as both redundancy manager and client, RSTP (IEC 62439-1), LACP link aggregation, and link backup. PRP operates by simultaneously transmitting duplicate frames over two independent parallel networks, enabling subscriber nodes to accept whichever frame arrives first and discard the duplicate, resulting in zero-time recovery that is particularly well suited to IEC 61850 process bus and station bus applications in substations, as well as critical industrial automation systems. The 6x Fast Ethernet ports each support independent selection of 100BaseTX or 100BaseFX media, with RS232 configuration and SPI status interfaces to the host. Operating on 3.3VDC at just 4.6W across -40 to +85°C, the module is well matched to the thermal and power budgets of embedded industrial electronics. Time synchronisation includes IRIG-B, PTPv2 boundary clock, PTPv2 transparent clock two-step, and SNTP. Industrial protocol profiles cover PROFINET IO, EtherNet/IP, IEC 61850 MMS server and switch model, and Modbus TCP. Security features include 802.1X, RADIUS, MAC-based port security, VLAN management restriction, and DoS prevention. Optional PCB protective coating is available.
