Description
The Hirschmann EES25-0600UHIHMH2E is a managed embedded Fast Ethernet switch from the EES series, engineered for OEM integration into industrial devices where zero-millisecond network recovery is a critical requirement. It shares the same compact 88 x 13 x 60mm, 35-gram form factor and dual 50-pin host connector interface as the EES20 baseline model, but extends the redundancy capability significantly with Fast MRP (IEC 62439-2), High Availability Seamless Redundancy (HSR, IEC 62439-3), and Parallel Redundancy Protocol (PRP, IEC 62439-3) in addition to standard MRP manager and client, RSTP (IEC 62439-1), LACP link aggregation, and link backup. HSR and PRP provide truly seamless redundancy with zero recovery time, making the EES25-0600UHIHMH2E the appropriate choice for IEC 61850-based substation automation, protection relay systems, and safety-critical process control applications where any packet loss during a network fault is unacceptable. The 6x Fast Ethernet ports are each configurable as 100BaseTX or 100BaseFX and connect to the host via RS232 for configuration and SPI for status. The 3.3VDC, 4.6W power requirement and -40 to +85°C operating range match the demands of embedded industrial and transportation electronics. Time synchronisation adds IRIG-B on top of PTPv2 boundary clock, PTPv2 transparent clock two-step, and SNTP, supporting the precise timing requirements of protection and control systems. Industrial protocol profiles cover PROFINET IO, EtherNet/IP, IEC 61850 MMS server and switch model, and Modbus TCP. Security features include 802.1X, RADIUS authentication, VLAN management restriction, MAC-based port security, and DoS prevention. Optional PCB coating is available.
