The Hirschmann BXP62-20TX-EECC-HV-3A is a managed industrial Ethernet switch from the BOBCAT eXtreme Performance series, running the advanced HiOS 3A software platform that adds full Layer 3 IP routing functionality on top of the comprehensive Layer 2 feature set. Designed for railway rolling stock applications, the BXP62-20TX-EECC-HV-3A provides 20 M12 X-coded ports — 4 x 1/2.5/10 Gbit/s TX, 2 x 1/2.5/10 Gbit/s TX PoE++, 2 x 10/100/1000 Mbit/s TX PoE++, and 12 x 10/100/1000 Mbit/s TX PoE+ — delivering up to 120W total PoE budget for onboard end devices such as passenger information displays, IP cameras, and access control readers. The HiOS 3A routing engine supports OSPFv2, RIP v1/v2, ECMP, static unicast routing, proxy ARP, and VLAN- and port-based router interfaces, enabling the BXP62-20TX-EECC-HV-3A to serve as both a high-performance Layer 2 switch and a capable Layer 3 router within a single compact unit. Redundancy is provided through HIPER-Ring, MRP (IEC 62439-2), MSTP, Sub Ring Manager, VRRP, and HiVRRP, ensuring maximum network availability in mission-critical train topologies. The switch is powered at 110 VDC and certified to EN 50155, EN 50121-4, and EN 45545 HL3, with conformal-coated PCB and IP40 metal enclosure for operation at altitudes up to 3000 m and temperatures from -40°C to +70°C. Security features include 802.1X, DHCP Snooping, Dynamic ARP Inspection, TACACS+, LDAP, ACLs, secure boot, and signed firmware.
