BRS52-8TX/4SFP-EEC

BRS52-8TX/4SFP-EEC – TSN Managed PoE+ DIN Rail Switch by Hirschmann

The Hirschmann BRS52-8TX/4SFP-EEC is a compact managed industrial DIN rail switch designed for demanding automation and industrial networking environments requiring real-time communication. Part of the BOBCAT series, it supports Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) via IEEE 802.1Qbv and delivers all-Gigabit connectivity across 12 ports, including 8 PoE+ RJ45 ports and 4 SFP slots scalable from 1 to 2.5 Gigabit without hardware changes. With a fanless design, -40 to +70°C operating range, and full PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, and Modbus TCP support, it is built for factory automation, process control, and smart manufacturing. Available from Recab, your Nordic partner for Hirschmann managed switch solutions.
Description
The Hirschmann BRS52-8TX/4SFP-EEC is a fanless, DIN rail-mounted managed industrial Ethernet switch from the BOBCAT series, engineered to meet the real-time communication demands of modern industrial networks through native Time-Sensitive Networking support. Featuring 12 ports in total — 8 x 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ45 ports with PoE+ inline power delivery up to 240W total, and 4 SFP slots capable of operating at 100, 1000, or 2500 Mbit/s — the BRS52-8TX/4SFP-EEC offers exceptional flexibility for network architects who need scalable uplink capacity without replacing hardware. TSN 802.1Qbv scheduling on interfaces 1/1 through 1/3 enables deterministic, time-critical traffic in converged OT/IT networks, making it particularly valuable for machine builders and system integrators working in factory automation, process industries, and intelligent transportation infrastructure. The switch supports PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, IEC 61850, and Modbus TCP industrial protocols, alongside a comprehensive redundancy suite including HIPER-Ring, MRP (IEC 62439-2), RSTP, and link aggregation with LACP. Security features include 802.1X port-based access control, RADIUS, secure boot, signed firmware, VLAN-based ACLs, and SNMPv3 with full audit trail support. Time synchronisation is handled via PTPv2 Boundary Clock, 802.1AS, and SNTP. Management is accessible via an HTML5 web interface, CLI, SSHv2, HTTPS, and USB-C local port, with USB-based AutoConfiguration Adapter support for rapid device replacement. The metal IP30-rated housing withstands vibration per IEC 60068-2-6 and shock per IEC 60068-2-27, with CE, FCC, and cUL61010 approvals and a 60-month guarantee.
