BRS50-8TX/4SFP – All-Gigabit TSN Managed Switch with 2.5G Uplinks by Hirschmann

The Hirschmann BOBCAT BRS50-8TX/4SFP is a compact all-Gigabit managed industrial DIN Rail switch combining eight 10/100/1000BASE-TX RJ45 ports with four SFP slots that support 100 Mbit/s, 1 Gbit/s, or 2.5 Gbit/s fiber transceivers in a 570 g PC-ABS housing measuring just 73 x 138 x 115 mm. Part number 942170010, it is the most compact member of the BRS50 family, delivering 2.5 Gbit/s-capable fiber uplinks in the smallest possible DIN Rail footprint — allowing machine builders and automation engineers to future-proof their network backbone investment without sacrificing panel space. The 2.5 Gbit/s SFP slots can be upgraded from 1 Gbit/s simply by changing the transceiver module, with no hardware modifications required. Operating from 0 to +60°C at just 12 W from dual redundant 12–24 VDC inputs, it achieves an MTBF of over 3.11 million hours at 25°C. As part of the BOBCAT TSN series, the BRS50-8TX/4SFP supports IEEE 802.1Qbv alongside HIPER-Ring and MRP (IEC62439-2) redundancy, RSTP, LACP, IGMP snooping, QoS, and VLAN management. Industrial protocol support covers PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, IEC61850 MMS Server, and Modbus TCP. Security features include 802.1X, RADIUS, secure boot, signed firmware, and DoS prevention.
