BRS50-8TX/4SFP-HL – All-Gigabit TSN Managed Switch with 2.5G Uplinks by Hirschmann

The Hirschmann BOBCAT BRS50-8TX/4SFP-HL is a compact fanless all-Gigabit managed industrial DIN Rail switch with hazardous location approval per ISA12.12.01, eight 10/100/1000BASE-TX RJ45 ports and four SFP slots supporting speeds up to 2.5 Gbit/s, operating from 0 to +60°C. With TSN 802.1Qbv, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, and HIPER-Ring redundancy, it suits standard-temperature classified areas requiring compact 2.5G-capable switching. Available from Recab, your Nordic partner for Hirschmann industrial switch solutions.
Description
The Hirschmann BOBCAT BRS50-8TX/4SFP-HL is the standard-temperature hazardous location variant of the compact 12-port BRS50 switch with 2.5 Gbit/s SFP uplinks, carrying ISA12.12.01 certification for Division 2 and Zone 2 classified environments while operating from 0 to +60°C. Part number 942170033, it provides eight 10/100/1000BASE-TX RJ45 ports and four SFP slots accepting 100 Mbit/s, 1 Gbit/s, or 2.5 Gbit/s fiber transceivers in a 570 g PC-ABS DIN Rail housing measuring 73 x 138 x 115 mm, with an MTBF of over 3.11 million hours at 25°C. The 2.5 Gbit/s SFP capability allows engineers to install future-proof backbone uplinks even within the space and safety constraints of hazardous area installations, upgrading from 1 Gbit/s to 2.5 Gbit/s simply by swapping the transceiver. As part of the BOBCAT TSN platform, the BRS50-8TX/4SFP-HL supports IEEE 802.1Qbv alongside HIPER-Ring and MRP (IEC62439-2) redundancy, RSTP, LACP, IGMP snooping, QoS, and VLAN management. Industrial protocol support covers PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, IEC61850 MMS Server, and Modbus TCP. Security features include 802.1X, RADIUS, secure boot, signed firmware, and DoS prevention. Power draw is 12 W from dual redundant 12–24 VDC inputs. Management is via USB-C, HTML5, CLI, and SNMP v1/v2/v3. The BRS50-8TX/4SFP-HL is the right choice for engineers specifying hazardous area compact switches with scalable 2.5G uplink capability at standard industrial temperatures. Available from Recab, your Nordic partner for Hirschmann industrial switch solutions.
