Description
The Hirschmann BOBCAT BRS50-20TX/4SFP is a high-port-density all-Gigabit managed industrial DIN Rail switch providing 24 ports across 20 x 10/100/1000BASE-TX RJ45 copper connections and four SFP slots that support 100 Mbit/s, 1 Gbit/s, or 2.5 Gbit/s fiber transceivers. Part number 942170071, the combination of 20 Gigabit copper ports and 2.5 Gbit/s-capable SFP uplinks makes this switch the highest copper-density BOBCAT BRS50 model, suited to large automation cells, multi-device machine networks, and campus-scale industrial backbones where both maximum port count and scalable uplink bandwidth are required. The 2.5 Gbit/s SFP slots allow uplink bandwidth to be increased 2.5-fold over standard Gigabit connections simply by changing the transceiver, with no changes to the switch hardware. Operating from 0 to +60°C in a 1050 g PC-ABS DIN Rail housing drawing 20 W, the BRS50-20TX/4SFP supports IEEE 802.1Qbv TSN alongside HIPER-Ring and MRP (IEC62439-2) redundancy, RSTP, LACP, IGMP snooping, QoS, and VLAN management. Industrial protocols cover PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, IEC61850 MMS Server, and Modbus TCP. Security includes 802.1X, RADIUS, secure boot, signed firmware, and DoS prevention.
