Description
The Hirschmann BRS40-12TX-EEC is the extended temperature variant of the BOBCAT all-Gigabit managed switch, combining 12x 10/100/1000BASE-TX RJ45 full Gigabit ports with an Extended Environmental Class operating range of -40 to +70°C for deployment in harsh, outdoor, or extreme climate industrial environments. Where the standard BRS40-12TX is suited to controlled cabinet installations, the BRS40-12TX-EEC extends that all-Gigabit performance capability to Nordic and Arctic industrial sites, transportation infrastructure, outdoor enclosures, and any environment where standard temperature ratings are insufficient. All 12 ports deliver up to 1 Gbit/s bandwidth, making the switch ideal for bandwidth-intensive applications such as machine vision, high-speed data acquisition, real-time analytics, and IIoT connectivity in demanding field environments. The switch operates in a compact fanless DIN Rail PC-ABS housing with IP30 protection, an MTBF of over 2.4 million hours, and CE, FCC, and cUL61010 approvals. TSN 802.1Qbv on interfaces 1/1 to 1/3 enables deterministic real-time Ethernet for time-sensitive industrial control, while PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, and IEC 61850 provide comprehensive automation protocol coverage. Redundancy is delivered by HIPER-Ring, MRP (IEC 62439-2) as both manager and client, RSTP, Link Aggregation with LACP, and Redundant Network Coupling.
