BRS30-8TX/4SFP

BRS30-8TX/4SFP – 12-Port SFP Managed TSN Switch by Hirschmann

The Hirschmann BRS30-8TX/4SFP is a compact, fanless, DIN Rail-mounted managed industrial Ethernet switch from the BOBCAT series, offering 12 ports — 8x Fast Ethernet RJ45 and four SFP slots supporting 100/1000 Mbit/s fibre in single mode, long-haul, or multimode variants. With TSN 802.1Qbv, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, and an outstanding MTBF of over 4.3 million hours, it combines reliability with fibre flexibility for demanding industrial automation applications. Available from Recab, your Nordic partner for Hirschmann managed industrial switch solutions.
Description
The Hirschmann BRS30-8TX/4SFP is a 12-port managed industrial Ethernet switch from the Hirschmann BOBCAT series, combining a compact form factor with the flexibility of four SFP fibre uplink slots and the high reliability demanded by continuous industrial operations. It provides 8x 10/100BASE-TX RJ45 access ports and four SFP slots — arranged as two dual-SFP uplinks — each supporting 100/1000 Mbit/s with interchangeable single mode, long-haul single mode, or multimode SFP fibre modules, enabling network engineers to define fibre type and reach independently of the switch hardware itself. At an MTBF of over 4.32 million hours — the highest in this batch — the BRS30-8TX/4SFP is engineered for maximum long-term reliability in 24/7 industrial environments. It operates from 0 to +60°C in a fanless DIN Rail housing with IP30 protection. TSN 802.1Qbv on interfaces 1/1 to 1/3 provides deterministic, time-sensitive Ethernet communication for real-time industrial control applications. The BRS30-8TX/4SFP supports PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, and IEC 61850, covering the full industrial protocol landscape. Redundancy includes HIPER-Ring, MRP (IEC 62439-2) as both manager and client, RSTP, Link Aggregation with LACP, and Redundant Network Coupling. Security capabilities cover 802.1X, RADIUS, VLAN-based ACLs, Secure Boot, signed firmware, and DoS prevention, with USB-C local management for fast commissioning and device replacement. Available from Recab, your Nordic partner for Hirschmann managed industrial switch solutions.
