Description
The Hirschmann BRS30-8TX/4SFP-EEC is the extended temperature variant of the BOBCAT BRS30-8TX/4SFP managed switch, combining the compact 12-port SFP fibre uplink design with an Extended Environmental Class operating range of -40 to +70°C for deployment in outdoor enclosures, transportation infrastructure, Nordic and Arctic industrial sites, and other harsh environments where standard temperature ratings cannot be relied upon. Like its standard counterpart, the BRS30-8TX/4SFP-EEC offers four SFP slots supporting 100/1000 Mbit/s in interchangeable single mode, long-haul, or multimode fibre configurations, alongside 8x 10/100BASE-TX RJ45 ports, all in a compact fanless DIN Rail housing with IP30 protection. With an MTBF of over 4.32 million hours, the BRS30-8TX/4SFP-EEC delivers exceptional reliability even in the most demanding continuous-duty industrial environments. TSN 802.1Qbv on interfaces 1/1 to 1/3 enables deterministic real-time Ethernet for time-critical control applications, while PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, and IEC 61850 cover the full industrial automation protocol stack. Redundancy is provided by HIPER-Ring, MRP (IEC 62439-2) as both manager and client, RSTP, Link Aggregation with LACP, and Redundant Network Coupling. Security features include 802.1X, RADIUS, VLAN-based ACLs, Secure Boot, and signed firmware. USB-C management enables efficient commissioning and zero-disruption device replacement in the field.
