The Hirschmann BOBCAT BRS20-4TX/2SFP-HL is the standard-temperature hazardous location SFP variant of Hirschmann’s compact 6-port managed Fast Ethernet BOBCAT switch family, certified to ISA12.12.01 for deployment within or adjacent to Ex-classified zones in oil and gas processing, petrochemical plants, offshore platforms, and chemical facilities. Manufactured by Hirschmann, a Belden brand, it combines 4x 10/100BASE-TX RJ45 copper ports with two interchangeable 100 Mbit/s SFP uplink slots accepting single-mode, long-haul single-mode, and multimode fiber modules, giving process engineers the flexibility to select the right fiber type and reach for each classified area installation point without hardware changes. The switch is housed in a 57 mm wide fanless PC-ABS DIN rail enclosure rated to IP30 and 0 to +60°C, consuming 7 W from dual redundant 12 to 24 VDC power inputs — well suited to Ex-zone panels where power budget and thermal dissipation are design considerations.
