The Hirschmann M-SFP-TX/RJ45 EEC is an extended temperature range Gigabit Ethernet SFP TX transceiver that enables engineers to add or expand copper RJ45 Gigabit connectivity on Hirschmann industrial switches with SFP slots, without requiring a copper-port switch replacement or additional fixed hardware. Operating at 1000 Mbit/s full duplex with full auto-negotiation and auto-crossing support, the transceiver connects to standard Cat5e or better twisted pair copper cabling up to 100 m via a standard RJ45 socket, making it compatible with all common installed copper infrastructure in industrial environments. The inclusion of auto-crossing distinguishes this EEC variant from the standard M-SFP-TX/RJ45 by eliminating cable polarity issues in direct device-to-device connections. The extended temperature range of -40°C to +70°C makes the M-SFP-TX/RJ45 EEC particularly well-suited for industrial switches deployed in outdoor cabinets, transportation infrastructure, energy substations, and process plants where ambient temperatures can fall below the operating limits of commercial-grade copper SFPs.
