Description
The Hirschmann M-FAST SFP-SM/LC is an SFP fiberoptic Fast Ethernet transceiver designed for single mode fibre applications where long-distance optical links up to 25 km are required at 100 Mbit/s speeds. Using 9/125 µm single mode fibre with an LC duplex connector, the transceiver operates at 1310 nm with a link budget of 0 to 13 dB and an attenuation of 0.4 dB/km, making it suitable for interconnecting Hirschmann industrial switches across remote sites, substations, between buildings on large industrial campuses, or along transportation corridors where multimode fibre reach is insufficient. The transceiver is powered directly from the host switch via the SFP slot at 1W, requiring no external power supply, and provides integrated diagnostics for optical input and output power levels and transceiver temperature, supporting proactive maintenance and fault diagnosis. The 13.4 x 8.5 x 56.5 mm form factor and 34g weight are standard SFP dimensions, ensuring compatibility with all Hirschmann switches that support SFP modules. IEC 60068-2-6 vibration and IEC 60068-2-27 shock ratings confirm mechanical resilience for industrial deployment environments. The M-FAST SFP-SM/LC holds a laser safety rating of Class 1 per IEC 60825-1 and an exceptional MTBF of 652 years, making it a dependable long-life single mode fibre connectivity solution for industrial switch installations.
