The Hirschmann M-FAST SFP-MM/LC EEC is an industrial SFP fiberoptic Fast Ethernet transceiver engineered for multimode fibre network segments in industrial environments where standard-temperature SFP modules are insufficient. The extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C makes it compatible with the most demanding industrial switch deployments including outdoor cabinets, substations, and transportation infrastructure where ambient temperatures can fall far below the operating limits of commercial-grade transceivers. The transceiver operates at 100 Mbit/s with an LC duplex connector and achieves a reach of up to 5000 m on 50/125 µm multimode fibre with a link budget of 0 to 8 dB at 1310 nm, or up to 4000 m on 62.5/125 µm multimode fibre with a link budget of 0 to 11 dB, covering the majority of campus and industrial site fibre link distances. Powered directly by the host switch via the SFP slot at just 1W, the M-FAST SFP-MM/LC EEC integrates diagnostics for optical input and output power monitoring and transceiver temperature reporting. The IEC 60068-2-6 vibration and IEC 60068-2-27 shock ratings confirm its suitability for high-vibration industrial environments.
