SOM-5897 – 6th Gen Intel Xeon/Core COM Express Module by Advantech

The Advantech SOM-5897 is a high-performance COM Express Basic Type 6 module designed for demanding embedded computing applications requiring powerful processing capabilities and flexible expansion options. Built on 6th Generation Intel Skylake-H architecture, this module offers processor options ranging from dual-core Celeron G3900E to quad-core Intel Xeon E3-1505M V5 with ECC memory support, addressing diverse performance requirements from cost-effective industrial systems to mission-critical applications requiring error-correcting memory. The SOM-5897 features Intel Gen 9 HD Graphics P530 with hardware acceleration for H.265/HEVC and H.264 encoding and decoding, supporting up to triple simultaneous displays through VGA, dual-channel LVDS, and two DDI ports configurable as HDMI 1.4, DVI, or DisplayPort 1.2. Resolution capabilities extend to 4K at 4096×2304 via DisplayPort, making it suitable for digital signage, medical imaging, and industrial visualization applications. Connectivity options are comprehensive, with one PCIe x16 lane configurable as dual x8 or x8 plus dual x4, eight PCIe x1 Gen3 lanes, Intel I219 Gigabit Ethernet, four SATA III ports at 6Gb/s, four USB 3.0 and eight USB 2.0 ports.
