SOM-5871 – AMD Ryzen V1000 COM Express Type 6 Module by Advantech

The Advantech SOM-5871 is a COM Express Basic Module Type 6 built on the AMD Ryzen Embedded V1000 processor family, delivering exceptional computing and graphics performance for demanding embedded applications. Available with five processor options ranging from the dual-core V1202B to the high-performance quad-core V1807B with boost frequencies up to 3.8GHz, this module addresses diverse performance and power requirements from 15W to 45W TDP configurations. The integrated Vega GPU with up to 11 compute units enables quad independent symmetrical displays at 4K resolution, supporting DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 1.4, DVI, LVDS, eDP, and VGA outputs for versatile visualization requirements. Memory subsystem features dual channel DDR4 supporting both ECC and non-ECC configurations up to 32GB via two 260-pin SODIMM sockets, with speeds up to DDR4-3200 on higher-end processor variants. The comprehensive I/O architecture includes one PEG x8 slot, six additional PCIe lanes for expansion, three USB 3.1 ports including two Gen2 capable, eight USB 2.0 ports, two SATA III interfaces, and two COM ports with optional CAN bus support. Intel I210 Gigabit Ethernet controller provides reliable network connectivity. Security features include optional TPM 2.0 module. The module operates from 8.5V to 20V input voltage supporting both ATX and AT power modes. Standard temperature variant operates from 0 to 60°C while the extended temperature V1404I variant supports -40 to 85°C for harsh industrial environments. Advantech iManager and WISE-PaaS/DeviceOn provide comprehensive embedded software APIs for system management including watchdog, I2C, SMBus, hardware monitoring, GPIO, and brightness control.
