VPC-5640S – Multi-PoE Fanless In-Vehicle Box PC with Intel Core i7 by AAEON

The AAEON VPC-5640S is a fanless multi-PoE in-vehicle box PC and AMR computing platform built around the 12th Generation Intel Core i7-1265UE processor, with project-based options for Core i5-1245UE and Core i3-1215UE, offering system integrators a scalable performance tier for demanding mobile and robotics deployments. Supporting up to 64GB of DDR5 via two SODIMM slots, the VPC-5640S combines serious compute capability with a robust feature set tailored to fleet management, surveillance vehicles, autonomous mobile robots, and intelligent transportation systems. The platform provides four IEEE 802.3at/af PoE+ ports over 2.5GbE, sharing a combined 60W power budget for connecting IP cameras and sensors, alongside a dedicated non-PoE 2.5GbE port via Intel I226-LM, with dual HDMI 1.4b display outputs for operational monitoring. Two M.2 3052 B Key sockets with dual SIM each, totalling four SIM slots, accommodate simultaneous dual LTE or 5G modules for resilient connectivity, while an M.2 2230 E Key socket supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth expansion. An M.2 2280 M Key PCIe Gen4 socket provides high-speed NVMe SSD storage, supplemented by a 2.5-inch SATA drive bay. The VS vehicle version integrates a built-in GPS NEO-M9V module and a G-sensor, and provides 9V to 36V DC input with ACC/ignition delay on/off control, protecting the system during vehicle power events. Additional I/O includes two RS-232/422/485 COM ports, isolated dual CAN bus FD, 8-bit digital I/O, USB 3.2 Gen 2 and USB 2.0 ports, and a 3.5mm audio jack, all accessed via front and rear panels. MIL-STD-810H vibration and shock compliance and E-Mark vehicle certification confirm suitability across a wide range of mobile deployments.
