FWS-2365 – Desktop Network Appliance with Intel Atom C Series by AAEON

The AAEON FWS-2365 is a desktop-format network appliance built around the Intel Atom Processor C Series, covering configurations from 4 to 16 cores to accommodate a range of throughput and latency requirements in network security and routing applications. The networking capability is the central feature: six Intel I210-AT Gigabit Ethernet ports with two co-located SFP slots are provided alongside up to four 10G SFP+ ports for high-speed uplinks, with the 4-core C3558 variant supporting two 10G SFP+ ports and higher core-count SKUs supporting four. One hardware LAN bypass pair on ports 3 and 4 ensures network traffic continuity during software failure or power interruption, a critical feature for inline security appliances such as firewalls, IPS, and WAN optimisers. Memory is provided by two DDR4 ECC SODIMM slots supporting up to 64GB for demanding stateful inspection and deep packet inspection workloads, alongside onboard 16GB eMMC (expandable to 128GB), two 2.5-inch SATA HDD/SSD bays, and an optional mSATA co-located with the M.2 slot. Expansion options cover one half-size Mini PCIe slot, one full-size Mini PCIe slot with SIM socket, and one M.2 3052 B-Key slot with SIM socket, enabling LTE/5G cellular failover modules, Wi-Fi, and other connectivity extensions. TPM v2.0, 4-bit GPIO, a software-programmable push button, and an RJ-45 console port complete the feature set.
