The ACKSYS RailBox V2 is a rugged high-performance railway router developed for onboard and trackside communications in trains, subways, trams, and light rail vehicles. Certified to EN50155 and EN45545 HL3 fire safety, the RailBox V2 brings WiFi 6 802.11ax with MU-MIMO 4T4R and dual-band 2.4 and 5 GHz operation, optional WiFi 6E across 5 and 6 GHz in AP mode, and a choice of 4G LTE Category 12 with worldwide coverage and GNSS or 5G NR with dual SIM support and multi-constellation GNSS navigation including GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and Galileo. Two 2.5 Gbps Ethernet ports with M12 X-coded CAT-6A rapid-connect waterproof connectors support link aggregation up to 5 Gbps total, with an optional Ethernet bypass relay for daisy-chain network continuity. The Inter-Carriage Link feature with SRCC automatic coupling enables seamless end-to-end Ethernet and IP backbone across coupled carriages. As an access point, the RailBox V2 supports load balancing, band steering, Hotspot 2.0, and WPA3 personal and enterprise with rogue AP detection, while fast roaming with CBB technology achieves under 30 ms handover with less than 0.1% packet loss. Routing functions include VRRP, OSPF, RIP, static routing, and VLAN support. Security features cover IPsec and OpenVPN tunnels, 802.1X RADIUS, firewall, DoS prevention, and SNMP v3. The ultra-wide 24 to 110 VDC power input with dual insulated redundant supply and optional PoE++ 802.3bt Type 3 power, combined with IP66 sealing, EN61373 shock and vibration certification, and an operating temperature range of -25 to +70 degrees Celsius standard or -40 to +70 degrees extended, make the RailBox V2 a proven platform for uninterrupted railway communications.
