Description
The Kontron AL Pi-Tron CM5 is a compact industrial PC from the Automation-Line product family, building on the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 to deliver a cost-effective yet capable platform for DIN rail-mounted edge computing, IoT gateway, and industrial automation applications. At its heart is the Broadcom BCM2712 quad-core Arm Cortex-A76 processor running at 2.4 GHz with 4Kp60 HEVC hardware decode, OpenGL ES 3.1 graphics, and Vulkan 1.3 support, providing strong multimedia and compute performance in a very compact form. System memory is 2GB LPDDR4 standard, with options up to 16GB, and storage is 16GB eMMC as standard with options up to 64GB, alongside a microSD card slot for additional data storage and 32kByte FRAM for power-fail-safe data integrity. Connectivity is broad for its DIN rail format: one Gigabit Ethernet and one 10/100 Ethernet port, two USB 2.0 Host ports plus a USB 2.0 OTG port for eMMC programming, RS232, RS485, CAN 2.0B/FD, and four 24V digital I/O channels at up to 800mA. Integrated dual-band WLAN (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/ac) and Bluetooth 5.0 with BLE provide wireless connectivity without additional modules. The HDMI 2.0 port supports display output up to 4Kp60. The robust stainless steel enclosure measures 111 x 25 x 76 mm for 35mm DIN rail mounting per EN 60715 and holds IP20 and CE approvals. Operating temperature is 0°C to +55°C on a 24V DC supply. Raspbian Linux is the supported operating system, and an optional multifunctional I/O expansion module allows further capability growth. Available from Recab, your Nordic partner for Kontron embedded computing solutions.
