SPR40-8TX-EEC – Unmanaged 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet Rail Switch by Hirschmann, a Belden Brand

The Hirschmann SPR40-8TX-EEC is an unmanaged full Gigabit Ethernet DIN rail switch from the SPIDER III family, engineered for industrial and safety-critical environments where eight Gigabit copper ports are required with minimal installation effort and a broad approval set. All eight 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ45 ports feature auto-crossing, auto-negotiation, and auto-polarity, operating in store-and-forward switching mode with ingress storm protection, QoS port prioritization per IEEE 802.1D/p, and jumbo frame support built in as standard. Power is supplied redundantly via a 6-pin terminal block accepting 12/24 V DC (9.6 to 32 V DC), and a USB interface facilitates configuration access, while maximum power consumption is kept to just 6.0 W. The switch operates across the full industrial temperature range of -40 to +70 °C and is housed in a compact 49 x 135 x 117 mm IP40 DIN rail metal enclosure. Reliability is underpinned by an MTBF of over 908,000 hours per Telcordia. Certifications span ATEX Zone 2 and ISA 12.12.01 Class 1 Div. 2 for hazardous locations, DNVGL for marine and shipbuilding, EN50121-4 for railway, E1 for road transport, and the standard CE, FCC, and cUL 61010 approvals, giving the SPR40-8TX-EEC one of the widest compliance portfolios in its class.
